We recently discovered....
We tried these out - we just could not resist the claims...
- lasts up to 1,000 washes?
- saving about 50 boxes of washing powder?
- saves money and the planet?
- use them instead of washing powder?
- hypoallergenic - clean, fresh, and sensitive alternative to conventional washing powders & liquids?
- kit includes free refill pellets?
- a stain remover?
What we did - bought a set and we are 100% impressed...
- we inspected our washing thoroughly
- could not find fault
- the fabric is softer
- we do not use anything else now
- we recommend them to everybody
What we liked best about them....
- No more hassle or expense of carrying bulky laundry liquids home from the supermarket ever again!
- fewer tonnes of detergent now goes into Britain's waterways every year
- reuseable for up to 1,000 washes (including the free refills)
- more EcoBalls® Refills are easily available
we only have to use the "quick wash" program as the balls keep washing through the rinse cycle
- we get our washing done in record time using a lot less electricity
- we do not have to use conditioner and cuase less damage to Britian's waterways
- so all this will saves us quite a lot of money
- there's no excuse not to try them as there is 30 day money back guarantee
Hard water
We live in a hard water area, and use a (salt) water softener to remove as much limescale as possible before it gets into any of our machines
Magno Balls do the trick without loads of bags of salt
(we even put a Magno ball in the dishwasher - which helps to help reduce water drop marks)
We use Magno Balls with the EcoBalls - it helps to make them work better
(just remember not to tumble dry the Magno Balls and the Eco Balls if you have a washer/dryer)
To use them
Put all 3 EcoBalls® in the machine instead of washing powder
- select the quick wash program @ 60 degrees (required for towelsand bed linen)
Push the button
Come back a short while later - 45mins
(it used to take us 4 hours to complete a wash/dry cycle)
Hang them on the line (line drying is more sustainable) does not matter if it rains*
Each EcoBall contains mineral salts that: -
- produce ionized oxygen
- penetrates deep into the fabric
- lifting the dirt and grime away
Drying
We use the tumble dryer to finish off our towels because they come out softer than line drying
(we throw in a couple of the dryer balls)
(we don't use fabric conditioner as this affects the absorbency of the towel)
Our housekeeping is done by a fantastic team of Eastern European Ladies (5 of them)
- all of whom have asked us to get them a set of EcoBalls for use at home (by their husbands?)
- and for their friends.
Our Laundry, as you can imagine is a huge task
- with up to 24 people using the them at any one time
- that is a lot of sheets & towels
(We don't use a linen service - they just seem not to be able to get it right)
*We set up a gazebo over our rotary washing line to keep off the rain - line drying - more sustainable
