A highlight of the Christmas events calendar, watch as participants process with their home-made paper lanterns through the Cathedral grounds and light up the night sky in a stunning display.
The event will culminate in Congregational carols led by Churches Together Winchester Gospel Choir.
If you are taking part in the parade this year with an existing lantern or a lantern you are making at home, you will need to register each adult and child attending the parade & number of lanterns you will bring.
Registration for this event is free of charge.
Please note: Lanterns that are not made in a workshop must be made using willow and lantern tissue paper.
As the parade will be starting inside the Cathedral, candles are not permitted.
If you are interested in participating in a workshop, Bella Crafts will be hosting lantern-making workshops at their Fair Oak site; they can also provide kits and instructions for those who prefer to make their lanterns at home.
